Yes there are newspaper and media commentators saying that there are going to be cutbacks in Police spending over the remainder of the current Government's term in office of three years. However a lot of these cuts could be deliberate strategies by the police to seek early retirement by police officers who are less well trained and less flexible to newer techniques and learning replacing them with a younger better trained workforce. Whether this is so or not if there are going to be less police on the streets then without a doubt those with specific skills such a CCTV operation will flourish. The friendly 'bobby on the beat' will be moved into a studio where many images can be seen at one time. IT in the security industry will surely play a bigger part in it's development as of course it will in many industries.
