The CITB exam can be scheduled at a Pearson centre near you, allowing you to choose the most convenient day and time for the test. Same-day results and a CITB number will be provided upon passing the exam.

Qualification

On successful completion of the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course and exam, learners will receive a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Certificate. This lasts a lifetime. On completion of the CITB exam, learners will receive their pass sheet with their very own CITB number- this will expire after 5 years.

The CSCS Level 1 Award exam is taken online, so you can be at home or at work anywhere in the UK, as long as you have access to a quiet room where you will not be disturbed.

The CITB Operatives Test has to be completed in a Pearson Centre near you. They are the centres in which we take our driving theory tests so you will likely find one in the city closest to you.

How does the course work?

On purchase, you will be sent login information for your online CSCS Course, where you will be able to study and work through a quick and easy online training course.

This CSCS Course consists of 4 easy modules:

What will I need to take this CSCS Level 1 Exam at home?

You will need to have a good understanding of the English language and have basic IT/ knowledge as the course is online-based. You will also need;

For the CSCS Level 1 Award, this exam is only available in English.

Would I need to bring any identification on the exam day?

Yes. When attending your Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment exam & CITB exam, you must arrive on time, at least 15 minutes early and you must have a valid form of Photo ID available, such as a driving licence or passport.

So how do I apply for my CSCS Card once I have passed both the CSCS Level 1 Exam and the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test?

Do I need to pay for a retake if I don't pass?

Retake fees are as follows:

Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment- £80.00

CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test- £55.00

When can I book both exams?

The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment online exam can be booked once you have fully completed the online course. You will be able to book a slot through your course dashboard. The course should only take 4-6 hours to complete but it must all be complete before an exam can be booked.

The CITB exam can be booked by filling in the form on your student account and we will secure the nearest slot for you at your local Pearson centre.
