Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment QCF   What is a CSCS Card? CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out. The Scheme keeps a database of people working in construction who have achieved, or are committed to achieving a recognised construction related qualification. Most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card, it is also important to hold a card if you are carrying out other works on a construction site i.e. removals, cleaning etc.   How can I obtain a CSCS Card? From July 2014 it is a requirement to hold a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment QCF before being eligible to apply for a CSCS card. The Learning Station offers employers and individuals the opportunity to take the City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment training course and test.   Course Information   Achievement of the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a construction environment will demonstrate the applicant understands of key issues affecting safe working practices on UK construction sites.   The course is held at our Haringey centre and is run over 1 day at the end of which the candidate will take the City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a construction environment Test. On passing this test the candidate should have the skills and knowledge necessary to take the CITB Health, safety and information test.   Once the learner has achieved the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment QCF AND passed the CITB Health, safety and information test they will be eligible to apply for the CSCS Labourer Card.   Costs   The Learning Station charges only £160 for both the 1 day course and the test - they are both requirements needed to be eligible to apply for CSCS Card.  (Separately, the 1-day course is £120 and we can arrange for you to do the CITB test at a centre closest to you for £40). 0845 026 8402 [email protected]
