Report: New Room Means More Day Classes for Adult Learning & Skills in St Ives

Good news for Adult Learners in St Ives! The school is currently celebrating after opening its new teaching area and offices at St Ivo School.
“It is going really well and we are really pleased that the school has relocated us into the modern part of the building. We have got much more flexibility to do day time classes.”
The move means that they now have their own dedicated room and will be able to offer more classes during the day for adults wishing to train and learn new skills. Tricia Tacconi, co-ordinator, said: “It is going really well and we are really pleased that the school has relocated us into the modern part of the building. We have got much more flexibility to do day time classes.” In the past Adult Learning and Skills, which offers a range of classes to all ages from 19 upwards, had to share a room with the school – but not anymore. Now, adult courses at St Ives are held during the day, in the evening and on Saturdays, with some being free whilst others are paid for. The group's regular free computer classes for older people are particularly popular, there are exercise classes for all ages and it is now working with St Ives Timebank. Booiaka Dance Fitness classes are also being held and there is skills tuition in areas including languages, bookkeeping and an introduction to counselling. To read the full report, click here. Well done St Ives!
