How to get into the Childcare industry
A qualification in childcare stands you in good stead in any or all the following professions:
- Youth Worker
- Playground Supervisor
- Nursery Manager
- Primary School Teacher
- Creche Assistant
- Pre-school Worker
- Practitioner in Day Nursery
- Nanny
- Childminder
Some prospective childcare workers carry out voluntary work at a local creche or daycentre, prior to seeking full time employment in the role.
Qualifications Needed
We provide Ofqual regulated and accredited courses in residential care, early years, social care and for young people. Childcare diplomas are split into three levels:
Level 2 – Those only just joining the industry
Level 3 – Experienced childcare workers
Level 5 – Management positions
Almost all roles within the childcare industry, especially those dealing with vulnerable children or those in care, require an Enhanced DBS check.
Please note that NVQ, QCF and RQF are all equivalent terms.
