Learners must be at least 18 years old, and they must secure a relevant work placement in a supervisory or managerial position for observations to take place during the course. This can be paid or voluntary, and on a part-time or full-time basis. Most students would also hold a Level 3 Diploma already but this isn't mandatory.

How is the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce – Early Years (Management/Advanced Practice) assessed?

This level 5 early years childcare qualification requires assessment of both competence and knowledge. Throughout your NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce – Early Years (Management/Advanced Practice) (QCF) course, you will be assessed through a variety of methods to help you complete the course as quickly and easily as possible. Some of the assessment methods you can expect will be completing written assignments of work that has been given to you, having a manager or colleague complete a witness testimony of tasks completed in a workplace, direct observations of you carrying out work-related tasks, professional discussions over the phone and supplying us with work product evidence. 

The Level 5 early years course has been designed to:
