How to get into the Health and Safety industry
To start a career in health and safety, you can either complete a qualification whilst
working, or get qualified prior to seeking out a trainee advisor role. Whatever your
current position, it is better to begin with an introductory course that covers basic
health and safety protocols, risk assessment, accident prevention and workplace
regulations.
Most companies with medium to large workforces have dedicated health and safety
officer roles. Entry to this kind of full-time position usually requires a Level 3 or Level
6 Health and Safety NVQ.
