CSCS Green Labourers Card requirements

So you’re ready to get your CSCS green card? No worries.

The tests you need to complete are:

1. CSCS Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment
2. CITB Operatives Health & Safety Test (HSE Test)

We offer 2 options to sit your exam for the Level 1 Award and we will show the requirements for each option.

When signing up for the Level 1 Award
(just the course, scroll down for information on exam requirements)

You will need:

• Device that can access the internet (phone, computer, tablet etc.)
• 6 hours of your time (this can be spread out over 3 months)
• Google Docs, or Microsoft Word
• Picture of your ID

When preparing for your London test centre exam option
(only if you are able to travel to London for your exam)

You will need:

• Your ID

When preparing for your online exam option
(only if you purchase the online exam option)

You will need:

• A Windows PC (Windows 8 or higher) – more detailed specifications you can find below
• Google Chrome internet browser
• Surpass Viewer (the awarding body will send download instructions a week before your exam)
• An active and up to date Antivirus program
  • A strong/stable internet connection
  • A webcam
  • A microphone
  • A quiet and well-lit room where you will not be disturbed
  • Photo ID – driving license, passport, work-based ID or Student ID are all acceptable.

You will need to have both Google Chrome and Surpass viewer installed. This is because Google Chrome is used for the remote invigilation element of the test whereas Surpass Viewer is used to deliver the test content.

At present Mac OS (Apple products), Chrome OS (Chromebook products) and (iOS) Tablet/Mobile devices are not supported for the delivery of City & Guilds on-screen assessments.

When booking and preparing for your CITB Operatives Test

You will only need to bring ID.

ID Requirements:

You must provide one form of Primary ID from the list below, showing your full name, a recognisable photograph and signature.

• Passport (UK or International)
• Photocard Driving Licence (UK or European)
• Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC)

If you do not have the required form of Primary ID, you may present two forms of Secondary ID. This must include one from List A and one from List B.

All documents presented as identification must be originals (no photocopies or digital copies), be in date (valid / not expired) and be in your name (which must match the name on the test booking).

If you do not bring suitable ID, you will not be allowed to take the test.

When applying for your CSCS green card

You will need:

1. A digital copy of your Level 1 Award certificate.
2. Your CITB Health, Safety & Environment test score report (or the CITB Test ID printed on the report – the ID starts CITB00 and is followed by seven digits). You will need to have passed the test within the last two years. You must also wait 24 hours after passing the test before applying for your CSCS card.
3. Your national insurance number
4. A debit or credit card to pay the £36 fee
5. About 5 minutes of time to spare
